Job summary

Target's Supply Chain Operations Internship offers a paid 40 hr/week, hands-on leadership training within a Target Supply Chain Facility. As an Operations Intern, you’ll gain a realistic preview of life as an Operations Manager, working with managers and team members to lead and develop the department.

You’ll learn to lead, motivate, and influence a team while focusing on safety, productivity, and continuous improvement, with extensive mentorship and training throughout the program.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience from school/activities.
• Interest in retail and supply chain facilities.
• Clear communication skills.
• Problem-solving and initiative.
• Team-oriented with willingness to learn.
• Ability to access all areas of the facility and follow instructions.
• Able to lift/move merchandise up to 15–40 pounds.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Help lead team on the facilities floor and align daily priorities.
• Work with team to lead daily priorities and ensure quality.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through standardized processes.
• Track KPIs: safety, teamwork, quality, productivity.
• Lead process improvement using CI methods (Gemba, Fishbone, 5 Why).
• Coordinate IT-Operations communication for WMS system issues.
• Recruit and mentor team members to take on leadership roles.
• Lead daily meetings with leadership and plan shift goals.
