Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Front-Line Manager in Training in Virginia Beach, VA, to join a six-week development program within Service Operations. The program prepares you to lead operations, manage inventories and coordinate cosmetic/mechanical processes.

Upon completion, you transition into a leadership role such as Flow Mechanical Manager, Flow Cosmetic Manager, Flow Supply Manager, Inventory Manager, or Service Manager.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead and manage teams effectively to achieve operational goals.
• Strong data interpretation and record accuracy for process compliance.
• Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interactions with associates and customers.
• Proficiency in common and proprietary software systems.
• Valid Driver’s License and flexibility to work in indoor/outdoor environments, including inclement weather.
• Willingness to work on varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with occasional travel.

• Demonstrate comprehension of training content throughout the program.
• Support execution of store procedures and operational processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Complete CarMax’s Management Development Program and apply leadership principles in real-world scenarios.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain quality and meet production goals.
• Model CarMax values by fostering integrity, respect, and a customer-first mindset in all interactions.
• Prepare for transition into a leadership role, ensuring readiness to manage associates and drive performance.
• Responsible for the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) program for your department and/or location.
