Job summary

Truist Financial Corporation is seeking an Operational Risk Management Programs Risk Officer I to develop, implement and execute core ORM programs. The role involves proactive risk management across cross-functional initiatives and extensive interaction with senior leadership.

The incumbent will lead policy deployment, training, monitoring and validation, while promoting risk awareness and ensuring regulatory alignment. Strong communication and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7 years of banking or related management experience.
• Strong operational risk management knowledge, leadership and decision-making.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Adept with Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of regulatory expectations related to operational risk scenario analysis and risk quantification.
• Experience facilitating scenario workshops across multiple business lines.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, subject matter expertise, and oversight on ORM programs to ensure proper risk identification, monitoring, reporting and mitigation.
• Implement ORM programs including policy, procedures, systems, training, monitoring and validation.
• Promote operational risk awareness throughout the organization via training activities.
• Assist in ensuring program components meet regulatory expectations and align with best practices.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across business units and second line functions.
• Stay abreast of risk management issues and incorporate new learnings into work processes.
• Identify opportunities to enhance scenario analysis methodologies, governance, tooling and data quality.
• Experience using external loss databases or benchmarking sources (e.g., ORX).
