Job summary

Truist is seeking an Operational Risk Oversight Officer to join the 2LOD team. The role oversees operational risk across Technology, Data, and Operations and partners with executives to challenge risk programs and ensure risk controls are effective.

The position is on-site in a Truist hub, requiring in-person collaboration and strong communication with senior leaders. A senior banking risk background and proficiency with eGRC tools are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of banking or risk management experience with oversight expertise.
• Experience with risk frameworks and risk identification and assessment.
• Working knowledge of governance, risk & compliance platforms.
• Industry experience across multiple business functions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent risk oversight for Truist 2LOD for designated areas.
• Challenge 1LOD risk program execution and document findings as required.
• Attend risk committees and engage with 2LOD partners regularly.
• Lead strategic initiatives and design risk solutions with business teams.
• Promote proactive risk culture and communicate with executives.
• Steward operational and enterprise risk frameworks and controls.
• Monitor regulatory, legal, and audit matters for oversight areas.
