Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking an OR Tech I to join the operating room team at the Main Campus and regional ASCs. You will scrub for surgeries, assist with instruments and supplies, and support patient safety and inventory management.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, surgical technologist certification within 1 year, and a preference for prior tech experience. Call responsibilities and department collaboration are part of the job.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Must obtain Surgical Technologist certification within 1 year from graduation and hire date.
• Experience as a surgical technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for surgical cases with team members including surgeons and nurses.
• Handle instruments, supplies, medication, media, specimens and instrument cases.
• Select equipment and supplies required for each case as directed.
• Maintain asepsis and patient safety in accordance with policy.
• Participate in turnover and inventory maintenance for assigned specialties.
