Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain Surgical Technologist certification within 1 year from date of graduation and hire.
• Must obtain BLS certification within 6 months from date of hire.
• Licensed by New York State as an LPN or equivalent licensure may be referenced.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for surgical cases as part of the OR Team under supervision.
• Assist with handling instruments, supplies, medications, media, specimens, and instrument cases.
• Maintain asepsis and ensure patient and staff safety during duties.
• Assist in inventory management for assigned specialties and equipment.
• Support cost-conscious use of supplies and institutional resources.
• Participate in product, supply, and instrument evaluations with cost/quality focus.
• Adhere to policies to protect patient rights and confidentiality.
