Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a Surgical Technologist I to join the OR Team at the Main Campus or regional centers. The role includes scrubbing for multiple specialties, handling instruments, supplies, and specimens, and supporting patient care under supervision.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, a recognized surgical technology program, and certification within 1 year, plus BLS within 6 months. Experience is preferred, and call duties may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain Surgical Technologist certification within 1 year of graduation and date of hire.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Experience as a surgical technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for surgical cases under general supervision.
• Handle instruments, supplies, media, specimens, and cases.
• Assist with call duties when trained.
• Maintain sterile technique and patient safety.
• Assist in inventory for surgical specialties as directed.
• Differentiate sterilization methods for instruments and equipment.
• Collaborate with OR team and surgeons.
