Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to support a variety of operative procedures. The role emphasizes scrubbing, assisting the surgeon, and maintaining a sterile field with efficient case management.

Responsibilities include preparing instruments, coordinating with the surgical team, and ensuring patient safety throughout the intraoperative process. BLS is required within 3 months, with an associate degree or certificate in surgical technology and preferred experience.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 3 months (AHA)
• Associate's degree or certificate in Surgical Technology
• 1+ years of experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely accuracy and efficiency
• Ensure instruments and equipment are complete and functional
• Set up sterile field and scrub prior to induction
• Assist in back table and mayo organization; ensure case readiness
• Anticipate case needs and adjust equipment as needed
• Communicate and collaborate with surgeons and circulating staff
• Perform in first scrub, first assist, second scrub, and turnover activities
• Contribute to quality improvement and unit operations
