Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support a range of operative and invasive procedures. The role involves scrubbing, passing instruments, and assisting the surgical team throughout perioperative care.

The candidate should have an Associate’s degree or certificate in Surgical Technology, and BLS certification with 1+ year of experience. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• BLS within 3 months - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology or a Certificate in Surgical Technology.
• 1+ years of experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures with timely accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and sutures are appropriate, complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub prior to induction.
• Set up case so others can step in back table and mayo organized.
• Use resources wisely and avoid unnecessary openings.
• Maintain fluid, non-redundant motions and proper time for case types.
• Collaborate with surgeon to anticipate needs and adjust as necessary.
• Able to run mayo independently and adapt style to surgeon and procedure.
• Perform first scrub, first assist, second scrub, and second circulator roles.
• Complete case closing activities such as dressing application, transfer and turnover.
