Job summary

Carle Health seeks a Surgical Technologist to support surgeons during operative and invasive procedures, preparing instrumentation and maintaining a sterile field. You will coordinate case setup with the team to ensure timely, accurate performance and collaboration with the surgical staff.

Qualifications include an Associate's degree or a Certificate in Surgical Technology, BLS within 3 months, and 1+ year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Education: Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology or a certificate in Surgical Technology.
• Work Experience: 1+ years of experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preparation for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures with timely accuracy.
• Ensures instruments, equipment and suture are appropriate, complete and functional.
• Sets up sterile field and is scrubbed prior to induction.
• Sets up case so that another can step in back table and mayo organized.
• Has appropriate 'have available' items and uses resources wisely.
• Motions are fluid and not redundant; prepares for a variety of case types.
