Job summary

Carle Health in Wichita, KS is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support sterile preparation, instrument handling and case setup for diverse operative procedures. You will scrub on procedures, assist surgeons, prepare for intraoperative needs, and collaborate with circulating nurses to maintain patient safety and efficiency.

Requirements include an Associate degree or certificate in Surgical Technology and BLS; 1+ year experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in Surgical Technology required.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire per AHA.
• 1+ year of surgical tech experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Ensure instruments and supplies are complete, functional and sterile.
• Set up sterile field and scrub prior to induction.
• Arrange back table and mayo setup, ensuring availability of needed items.
• Collaborate with the surgeon on case needs and adjustments.
• Run mayo independently when required; adapt to surgeon preference.
• Assist with case closing activities and turnover; maintain efficiency.
