Qualifications

• 3–5 years of IT support, desktop engineering, systems support, or infrastructure experience.
• Strong Windows 10 and Windows 11 troubleshooting experience.
• Windows workstation installation, configuration, and administration.
• Software installation and troubleshooting.
• Hardware and peripheral troubleshooting.
• Windows device drivers and Device Manager.
• Active Directory and domain-joined workstation concepts.
• Network troubleshooting fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network shares.
• User/group permissions and local security concepts.
• Application and OS compatibility troubleshooting.
• Backup, restoration, and data migration fundamentals.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and execute defined procedures.
• Strong documentation and technical communication skills.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot issues and elevate as needed.
• Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams, vendors, and end users.
• Onsite work and support for scheduled deployment activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical assessments of existing Windows 10 workstations to determine Windows 11 upgrade or replacement requirements.
• Capture and maintain workstation information including asset details, OS, apps, versions, peripherals, interfaces, and project data.
• Assess hardware and software readiness for Windows 11 and identify compatibility issues.
• Support replacement of legacy workstations with Windows 11 computers where needed.
• Build, configure, and prepare Windows 11 workstations per enterprise standards and procedures.
• Install and configure business, lab, instrument-control software using approved packages.
• Migrate app configurations, local data, and instrument settings from existing workstations.
• Verify connectivity between Windows 11 workstations and instruments, network resources, servers, printers, and shares.
• Troubleshoot Windows, drivers, services, installations, network, permissions, and peripheral issues.
• Coordinate with software and instrument vendors for compatibility, licensing, and upgrade requirements.
• Support pre-upgrade backup activities and ensure recovery provisions are available.
• Execute workstation upgrade and replacement using approved procedures and schedules.
• Support AD/domain integration and endpoint-security requirements.
• Coordinate with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams for endpoint configuration and firewall needs.
• Assist end users during post-upgrade verification.
• Provide info and support for validation activities on regulated systems.
• Document assessment results, configurations, issues, resolutions, and status in project tracks.
• Identify risks and blockers and escalate to the project lead.
• Follow SOPs, change-management, data-integrity, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Participate in project meetings, technical reviews, and deployment planning.
• Maintain project status and communicate readiness, blockers, and outcomes to leadership.
• Support multiple workstation upgrades per project priorities with minimal business disruption.
