Qualifications

• 3–5 years of IT support, desktop engineering, systems support, or infrastructure experience.
• Strong Windows 10 and Windows 11 troubleshooting experience.
• Windows workstation installation, configuration, and administration.
• Software installation and troubleshooting.
• Hardware and peripheral troubleshooting.
• Active Directory and domain-joined workstation concepts.
• Network troubleshooting fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• User/group permissions and local security concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assess Windows 10 workstations to determine Windows 11 upgrade or replacement needs.
• Capture workstation hardware, OS, apps, interfaces, and instrument connections.
• Assess readiness for Windows 11 and identify compatibility issues.
• Support replacement of legacy workstations with Windows 11 PCs where upgrades aren’t feasible.
• Build and configure Windows 11 workstations per enterprise standards.
• Install and configure business and instrument-control software.
• Migrate application configurations and local data as required.
• Verify connectivity between Windows 11 devices and instruments, network resources, and servers.
• Troubleshoot Windows, drivers, services, and peripheral issues.
• Coordinate with vendors for compatibility, licensing, and upgrade requirements.
• Support pre-upgrade backup activities and rollback provisions.
• Execute upgrade and replacement activities per procedures.
• Support AD/domain integration and endpoint-management requirements.
• Coordinate with security teams for endpoint config and firewall rules.
• Assist users during post-upgrade verification.
• Provide information for validation activities when required.
• Document results, configurations, issues, and resolutions.
• Identify risks and blockers and escalate promptly.
• Follow SOPs, change-management, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Participate in meetings and deployment planning.
• Keep leadership informed of readiness and deployment outcomes.
• Support multiple workstation upgrades with minimal operational disruption.
