Qualifications

• Strong Windows 10 and Windows 11 troubleshooting experience.
• Windows workstation installation, configuration, and administration.
• Software installation and troubleshooting.
• Hardware and peripheral troubleshooting.
• Windows device drivers and Device Manager.
• Active Directory and domain-joined workstation concepts.
• Network troubleshooting fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network shares.
• User/group permissions and local security concepts.
• Application and OS compatibility troubleshooting.
• Backup, restoration, and data migration fundamentals.
• Interpretation of technical documentation and execution of defined procedures.
• Strong documentation and technical communication skills.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot technical issues and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams, vendors, and end users.
• Support onsite deployment activities as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical assessments of Windows 10 workstations for Windows 11 upgrade or replacement.
• Capture and maintain workstation asset information and configurations.
• Assess hardware/software readiness for Windows 11 and identify compatibility issues.
• Support replacement of legacy workstations with Windows 11 computers where upgrades aren’t appropriate.
• Build, configure, and prepare Windows 11 workstations per enterprise standards.
• Install and configure business and instrument software from approved packages and docs.
• Migrate configurations, data, and settings from existing workstations.
• Verify connectivity between Windows 11 workstations and instruments, servers, and shares.
• Troubleshoot Windows, drivers, services, installations, and network issues.
• Coordinate with vendors for compatibility, licensing, and upgrade procedures.
• Support pre-upgrade backups and ensure rollback provisions exist.
• Execute upgrades and replacements per approved procedures and schedules.
• Support Active Directory/domain integration and endpoint security requirements.
• Coordinate with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams on configurations and access controls.
• Assist users during post-upgrade verification.
• Work with Validation/Quality for compliant qualification activities.
• Document results, actions, and status in project tracking systems.
• Identify risks and blockers and escalate to project technical lead.
• Follow SOPs, change-management, data integrity, cybersecurity, and GxP practices.
• Participate in project meetings and deployment planning.
• Maintain status updates and communicate readiness to leadership.
• Support multiple workstation upgrades per project priorities.
