Job summary

TechDigital Group in Cambridge, MA is seeking an IT support professional to lead Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrades onsite. You will assess readiness, capture asset data, and coordinate with vendors to ensure smooth deployments across laboratory and business operations.

You will build and configure Windows 11 workstations, install required software per vendor docs, migrate configurations, and validate connectivity to instruments and servers.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years IT support, desktop engineering, or related infrastructure experience.
• Strong Windows 10/11 troubleshooting and workstation admin skills.
• AD concepts, network basics, and security/permissions knowledge.
• Experience documenting procedures and communicating technically.
• Ability to work onsite and support deployments as required.
• Collaborate with vendors, owners, and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess Windows 10 workstations for Windows 11 upgrade or replacement needs.
• Capture asset and configuration details for project tracking.
• Evaluate hardware/software readiness and remediation needs.
• Upgrade or replace workstations with Windows 11 per standards.
• Build, configure, and deploy Windows 11 workstations.
• Install business and instrument-control software with vendor docs.
• Migrate configurations, data, and settings from existing workstations.
• Verify connectivity to instruments, servers, and file shares.
• Troubleshoot Windows, drivers, services, and network issues.
• Coordinate with vendors on compatibility and upgrade requirements.
• Execute pre-upgrade backups and ensure recovery options.
• Follow SOPs, change control, and data integrity standards.
• Document results, issues, and resolutions in project trackers.
• Escalate risks to project technical lead as needed.
