Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to support preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on solar PV facilities in the field. This role emphasizes safety, technical growth, and hands-on work at customer sites across the United States.

Based in the field with travel as needed, you will perform inspections, basic electrical testing, and coordinate repairs under 50V, while maintaining accurate documentation and log sheets.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of relevant field experience in solar, electrical, or related technical trade; or completion of ACT's Apprentice program.
• Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) sign-off, or ability to obtain within onboarding period.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, identify fuses, breakers, switches, power sources and BoS equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
• Valid Driver's License; willingness to travel ~20% and work on-call on evenings/weekends as needed.
• FAA Part 107 certification, and ACT High Voltage/Medium Voltage training completed or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in all tasks.
• Assist in routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities including inverter maintenance.
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance support.
• Conduct monthly site inspections and routine vegetation/site checks.
• Log service reports, inspections, safety paperwork, and inventory in Fiix, TrueContext, Deputy, and ACT SharePoint.
• Dispatch and coordinate repairs under 50V; maintain vehicles, tools, meters, and plant stock.
• Attend training and pre-job briefings; participate in Good Catch and BBSO programs.
