Job summary

ACT Power Services in the United States is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to support safe, productive, day-to-day onsite operations of Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV plants. You will help with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to maximize production while upholding safety standards.

As a Field Service Technician 1, you will gain technical skills and safety competency under supervision, working at customer sites across the country and occasionally traveling 20%

Qualifications

  • 6–12 months to 1 year field experience in solar/electrical/technical trades.
  • QEW sign-off or ability to obtain during onboarding.
  • OSHA 10 General Industry certification or within 90 days.
  • Ability to read/interpret drawings and identify BoS components.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Willingness to travel ~20% and work on-call weekends.
  • FAA Part 107, Technical Writing course, and HV/MV training in progress.
  • Experience with field safety programs and incident reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold high safety standards in all tasks.
  • Support routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of solar facilities.
  • Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance.
  • Conduct vegetation and site equipment inspections monthly.
  • Log data into Fiix, TrueContext, Deputy, and ACT SharePoint.
  • Prepare and submit service reports, inspections, and safety paperwork.
  • Coordinate warranty claims with vendors as needed.
  • Maintain company property and tools in good condition.
  • Attend training sessions and participate in safety programs.
