Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to support safe, productive on-site operations at Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV plants. The role covers preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to maximize production, with opportunities to advance on the ACTivate Technician Track.

Based in the field with travel to various sites across the United States, the position emphasizes safety, technical skill growth, and adherence to industry best practices.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of relevant field experience in solar, electrical, or a related technical/mechanical trade; or completion of ACT's Apprentice program (equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Uphold safety standards in all tasks
• Assist in preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance support
• Conduct vegetation and site inspections, including monthly checks
• Log service reports and safety paperwork; maintain inventory
• Dispatch and remediation for repairs under 50V
• Log data into Fiix, TrueContext, Deputy, and ACT SharePoint
• Attend maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical writing training
