Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. is seeking an Onsite Service Specialist at a large strategic account in Downers Grove, IL. You will support procurement and order placement while managing MSC ControlPoint solutions to drive value for the customer.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, 2+ years in sales or customer service, and strong communication skills. This role includes travel up to 10% and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years inbound/outbound telephone sales, store/inventory, or customer service experience required.
• Industry experience preferred; military experience a plus.
• Metalworking knowledge a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with procurement and order placement and log cost savings data.
• Manage MSC ControlPoint Solutions (Vending, VMI, Crib) to drive value.
• Determine sourcing strategies in collaboration with the Category Team.
• Participate in customer plant meetings and Lean/Six Sigma events.
• Collaborate with the account team to maximize satisfaction and future projects.
• Resolve on-site issues using sales-related solutions and supplier resources.
• Provide MSC standard customer service to retain accounts and drive revenue.
• Communicate customer concerns to management for effective resolution.
