Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Specialist to develop, support, and audit safety programs that reinforce our “Nobody Gets Hurt” commitment. You will work with field teams to promote ownership of safety plans, perform hazard inspections, and assist with incident investigations across Power Market projects.

Ideal candidates will hold OSHA certifications, prefer a related degree, and demonstrate strong organization, communication, and independence in a dynamic construction environment.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30, 500 and 510 certifications.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field preferred.
• Authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, updating, and communication of the SSSP to all stakeholders.
• Collaborate daily with craft to promote safety program buy-in.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to enforce policies and plans.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations using leading indicators.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain project files in OSHA/MSHA compliance and injury records.
• Conduct daily hazard inspections and coordinate corrective actions.
