Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Specialist to develop, support, and audit safety programs focused on the core safety principle of “Nobody Gets Hurt.” The role sits in the Power Market Safety department and involves on-site collaboration with field teams, incident investigations, and ensuring OSHA/MSHA compliance.

The ideal candidate will have OSHA certifications, a relevant degree, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30, 500 and 510 certifications required or strongly preferred.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, updating, and communication of the SSSP to all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with craft daily to promote buy-in of the safety program.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to ensure adherence to policies and plans.
• Plan, prioritize, and problem-solve with operations based on leading indicators.
• Assist with incident investigations and implementing effective solutions.
• Complete daily hazard inspections and drive corrective actions with teams.
