Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Specialist to support and audit our safety programs on construction sites. You will report to the Project Safety Manager and help implement the Site Specific Safety Plan, enforcing safety expectations and corporate safety policies across projects.

Responsibilities include assisting with incident investigations, safety training, OSHA/MSHA compliance, and maintaining project files. Willingness to relocate for career opportunities is expected.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30/500/510 certifications required or preferred.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current OSHA requirements.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, reviewing, updating, and communicating the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) to subcontractors.
• Collaborate with field craft daily to ensure buy-in and ownership of the safety program.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and work plans; support corrective actions.
