Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Specialist to develop, support and audit our safety programs, reinforcing the commitment to safety across Power Market projects. This entry-level role focuses on promoting the Nobody Gets Hurt philosophy and working with field crews to improve site safety.

You will assist with SSSP development, hazard inspections, incident investigations and OSHA/MSHA compliance, coordinating with EMS/clinics and subcontractors as needed.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30/500/510 certifications required or preferred.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, updating, and communication of the SSSP to all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with craft daily to promote buy-in of safety program.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to enforce policies and plans.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations based on leading indicators.
• Encourage staff to execute the SSSP and advise on safety practices.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
