Job summary

Southland Industries seeks a Safety Manager to plan, coordinate, and implement safety programs ensuring compliance with corporate standards and regulations, while promoting an incident-free work environment for employees.

The role involves training staff on safety laws, conducting audits, and coordinating hazard analyses for projects. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, with experience in construction safety management preferred.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in occupational safety/health or equivalent combination
• Certifications in OSHA 510 or 511 are required
• Strong understanding of federal, state, local regulations

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and implement safety programs that comply with OSHA and company standards.
• Monitor and educate the workforce on health and safety issues to promote a safe culture.
• Conduct worker training on safety laws, hazards, PPE and proper equipment use.
• Perform safety audits and hazard recognition with corrective actions.
• Document inspection results and ensure 100% compliance across sites.
• Develop and review THA/JHA for assigned projects and train accordingly.
• Provide on-site safety support and coordinate with management and field staff.
• Investigate accidents, document findings and prepare required reports.
• Attend accident review meetings and conduct new hire safety training.
• Issue permits as required and accompany inspectors on site visits.
• Maintain safety paperwork accurately and thoroughly.
• Perform additional assignments as needed.
