Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Safety Manager to lead manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, and production safety efforts. The role focuses on OSHA compliance, hazard elimination, and continuous improvement through engineering controls and risk reduction.

You will partner with engineering, operations, fleet, logistics, and leadership to integrate safety into facility design and workflows. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in industrial safety, strong OSHA knowledge, and experience with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of safety experience in manufacturing, fabrication, industrial, or warehouse environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry regulations and industrial safety practices.
• Experience with engineering controls, machine guarding, LOTO, forklifts, and manufacturing process safety.
• Experience supporting facility start-ups, operational improvements, or process design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure OSHA General Industry compliance and company requirements.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
• Participate in incident investigations, corrective actions, and trend analysis.
• Drive engineering controls and hazard elimination strategies with operations and engineering.
• Support safe operations around fabrication equipment, forklifts, welding, electrical safety, and LOTO.
• Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and leadership development programs.
• Track safety metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
