Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking an experienced EHS leader to plan, develop, coordinate, and manage corporate environmental, health and safety programs for the division. The role drives a safety-first culture across locations that may span multiple states.

The position oversees audits, training, safety policy implementation, regulatory compliance and risk minimization. Strong leadership and communication are essential for coaching staff and advancing safety initiatives company-wide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Applied Sciences or related discipline.
• 8+ years’ EH&S experience including people management.
• Certifications in CPR and First Aid.
• OSHA 10hr, OSHA 30hr, OSHA 40hr training preferred.
• OSHA 500, CHST or ASP certifications preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of workplace safety laws, regulations, policies and procedures (OSHA, NFPA, EPA, DOT).
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and health and safety management systems.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, coordinates and manages corporate EH&S programs and practices for the division.
• Manages safety audits and inspections and recommends corrections for compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Develops and maintains employee safety training programs and records; manages safety procedures and policies.
• Provides strategic direction to improve EH&S performance and minimize risks and liabilities.
• Oversees compliance with safety regulations across locations and with internal policies.
• Leads recruitment and hiring for safety roles.
