Job summary

Southland Industries seeks an experienced EH&S leader to plan, develop, and manage corporate safety programs across divisions. You will drive a safety-first culture, oversee audits, training, and policy compliance, and lead incident investigations.

This senior role includes coaching staff and guiding recruitment for safety positions. Role requires a bachelor’s degree in Safety/Env Health and 8+ years in EH&S with people management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Applied Sciences or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in EH&S including, people management experience
• Certifications in CPR and First Aid.
• OSHA 10hr, OSHA 30hr, OSHA 40hr training, preferred.
• OSHA 500, CHST or ASP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, coordinates and manages corporate environmental, health and safety protection programs for the division.
• Establishes and maintains a safety-driven culture throughout the division.
• Manages safety audits and inspections; recommends corrections for compliance across locations.
• Develops and maintains employee safety training programs and records.
• Develops safety reports and presentations for management.
• Provides strategic direction to improve EH&S performance and minimize risks.
• Ensures adherence to safety manual and company policies across locations.
• Provides coaching and performance feedback for direct reports.
• Manages recruitment and hiring for safety roles.
