Job summary

IES Communications in West Des Moines, IA, seeks a Safety Coordinator to implement and maintain safety policies, train staff, and ensure compliance with federal and state standards. EMT or higher credentials strongly preferred.

The role covers safety audits, incident investigations, training delivery (OSHA 10/30), root cause analysis, and coordination with operations. Candidates should have at least a high school diploma and 3 years in construction safety, with MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED; an Associate degree or higher is preferred.
• EMT or higher credentials are preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 is required or preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to read, write and present clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support IES and Site safety policies and federal/state standards.
• Implement and ensure compliance with safety programs within the division and sites.
• Deliver safety trainings and conduct jobsite safety audits/inspections.
• Lead root-cause investigations and develop corrective actions.
• Coordinate safety records, reports and OSHA inspections as needed.
• Mentor stakeholders to uphold IES safety culture.
