Job summary

State of Mississippi – Mississippi Department of Archives & History (MDAH) is seeking a Client Support Technician to deliver on-site and remote end-user IT support in Jackson, MS. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and access issues while supporting workstations, printers, and Microsoft environments.

Responsibilities include hands-on troubleshooting, ticketing, onboarding/offboarding, and Azure/AD support.

Qualifications

3+ years Windows 11 experience.
3+ years desktop/notebook support experience.
3+ years printer support experience.
3+ years wireless device support experience.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
Basic knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
Help desk/service desk and ticketing system experience.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site and remote technical support to end users.
Troubleshoot and repair desktop PCs, laptops, printers, monitors, and mobile devices.
Install, configure, and update Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Respond to help desk requests through phone, chat, and in-person support.
Log, track, troubleshoot, and resolve issues using ticketing systems.
Set up new workstations and support employee onboarding/offboarding.
Create user accounts and manage permissions/access.
Support Azure/Active Directory environments.
Maintain hardware, software license, and IT inventory records.
Troubleshoot basic DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and networking issues.
Escalate complex or network-wide issues to senior admins.
Provide excellent customer service with patience and clear communication.
