Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Buyer to join a manufacturing facility onsite in Greenfield, IN. This contract-to-hire role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with a focus on high-volume, manual PO data entry and adherence to standard work procedures.

You will work with Excel, Outlook, and ERP to manage orders and support inventory needs. The position emphasizes accuracy, reliability, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for development during ERP

Qualifications

• Experience entering and managing large multi-line purchase orders.
• Proficient with ERP systems in a purchasing/inventory context.
• Strong Excel and Outlook skills for data entry and communication.

Responsibilities

• Enter large, multi-line purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Process around 20 POs per day with 100–150 lines each using manual data entry.
• Follow standard work procedures and purchasing guidelines.
• Use Excel for data entry, tracking, and basic PO analysis.
• Communicate with internal teams and suppliers via email and phone.
• Manage and convert purchase requisitions into POs in a timely manner.
• Support inventory purchasing by aligning POs with inventory needs.
• Utilize ERP to enter, update, and manage purchasing data.
• Maintain data accuracy and detail-oriented order entry.
• Collaborate to ensure adherence to purchasing processes.
