Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure buildings meet safety and quality standards. You will diagnose defects, perform repairs, and manage the make-ready process for new move-ins.

Responsibilities include completing work orders, tracking inventory, and maintaining grounds and common areas. The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years in maintenance, and relevant certifications or licenses, including HVAC if applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or related experience and/or training.
• Minimum 2 years in property management maintenance or related trade.
• May require HVAC certifications or licenses.
• Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Completes work orders from resident requests and preventative maintenance per policies and safety standards.
• Handles make-ready process for vacant units, schedules vendors, and inspects completed work.
• Manages materials from maintenance department, tracks inventory, and notifies when re-orders are needed.
• Documents work and keeps service requests accurately recorded.
• Maintains grounds and common areas, performs cleaning and minor painting as needed.
• Supports cost-control by repairing parts instead of replacing when feasible and using tools properly.
• Follows safety policies, attends trainings, and reports incidents promptly.
• May inspect contractors’ work to ensure quality and scope compliance.
