Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform technical work across the community. You will diagnose defects, perform repairs, and support make-ready efforts to prepare homes for leasing while maintaining Greystar standards for cleanliness and safety.

You will help manage budgets, procure supplies, and ensure safety compliance. Strong customer service and communication will be essential in liaising with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Must provide own hand tools unless prohibited by State law.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to define and correct problems.
• Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively for reports and policies.
• Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database tools; property management system experience preferred.
• Math skills to review and complete financial/administrative documents.

Responsibilities

• Assists and completes work orders from resident requests and routine maintenance.
• Oversees and completes make-ready process for vacant units, including inspections and vendor coordination.
• Develops standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, exteriors, interiors, and common areas to reflect Greystar quality.
• Periodically inspects work by staff and contractors to ensure policy and quality adherence.
• Maintains inventory of spare parts and coordinates supplies within budget.
• Completes monthly preventative maintenance procedures.
• Assists Community Manager in budgeting for repairs and capital projects.
• Supports cost-cutting by repairing rather than replacing when possible.
• Conducts safety meetings, keeps MSDS current and ensures OSHA compliance.
• Delivers customer service with professionalism, addressing resident questions and complaints promptly.
