Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Lexington, KY to ensure buildings, grounds, and amenities meet safety and quality standards. You will handle work orders, preventative maintenance, and make-ready tasks for vacant units while coordinating with vendors and tracking inventory.

The role requires 2+ years in property maintenance, a high school diploma or GED, and EPA certifications preferred. Onsite position with robust benefits and opportunities for advancement within Greystar.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and/or training.
• 2 years minimum experience in property management maintenance, other building maintenance, or related trade.
• May be required to hold various certifications (e.g. HVAC) and licenses.
• Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as a leader, and a collaborative member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work orders from resident requests and preventative maintenance by diagnosing defects and making repairs per policies and codes.
• Completes the make-ready process to prepare vacant homes for leasing, including inspections, punch lists, scheduling, and ordering supplies.
• Accesses materials from the maintenance department, tracks inventory, and notifies supervision when re-orders are needed.
• Completes documentation and paperwork to document and track service requests.
• Maintains grounds, common areas, and amenities by cleaning, painting, and performing light maintenance as needed.
• Supports cost-control by repairing instead of replacing parts when possible and using materials efficiently.
• Follows safety policies, attends trainings, and reports accidents promptly.
• Occasionally inspects contractor work to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
• Assists in routine property inspections and communicates property needs to management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
