Job summary

Cummins Inc. in El Paso, TX seeks a Technical Specialist to diagnose and perform complex generator repairs at customer sites. You will be the primary on-site contact, applying specialized tools, maintaining safety standards, and documenting service activities for billing and records.

The role requires strong technical troubleshooting, ability to train and mentor technicians, and effective communication with customers and internal teams to deliver reliable power solutions.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and continually develops productive customer relations and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs
• Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer site
• Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field
• Escalates unresolved issues to product specialists / Supervisor
• Coordinates and mentors technicians and apprentices; may provide work direction; may review repair plans, parts lists
• Completes required documentation such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens
• Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
• Ensures adherence to Health Safety & Environmental policies; reports issues to site management and supervisor
• Communicates effectively to deliver multi-mode communications for different audiences
• Customer focus: building strong relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions
