Job summary
Cencora in Reading, PA is seeking a Pharmacy Call Center Technician for an onsite, 40-hour workweek to support Tower Health retail pharmacy operations in West Reading. The role involves building patient profiles, processing prescriptions, and resolving insurance issues in a fast-paced pharmacy setting.
Candidates should have at least two years of ambulatory pharmacy experience, a valid Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or equivalent), and state certification. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Qualifications
- Minimum two years ambulatory pharmacy experience.
- Pharmacy technician certification (PTCB or equivalent) required.
- State certification acceptable if core competencies meet national standards.
- Trainee license must upgrade to Technician license before expiration.
- Consult state board for additional guidance.
Responsibilities
- Create patient profile in the pharmacy information system.
- Enter prescription plan information for processing and adjudication.
- Enter all new patient prescription data into the system.
- Address insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues with providers, patients and pharmacists.
- Assist pharmacists with therapeutic consults and adverse interactions.
