TaxRise Inc. is seeking a People Operations Generalist to be the first point of contact for employees and managers.

This 100% on-site role in Irvine, CA will help build consistent processes, handle sensitive matters, and empower leaders as we grow. You’ll own employee relations, investigations, leaves, and accommodations under FMLA/ADA, develop dashboards, and deliver onboarding and training for new managers.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, including time in a generalist role.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with employee relations, leave and accommodations, and workplace investigations.
• Working knowledge of employment law, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII and state and local requirements.
• Sound judgment, clear writing and the discretion to handle sensitive matters, including knowing when to scale.
• Comfort coaching managers at every level and holding a firm, fair line.

Responsibilities

• Be the day-to-day People partner for employees and managers across departments, and own employee relations from intake to resolution, escalating to People Leadership when a situation calls for it.
• Partner with People Leadership to run thorough, objective and timely investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation and failure to accommodate.
• Coach managers through performance, attendance and difficult conversations, from documentation and corrective action to early intervention, and review termination requests with leadership so every separation is fair and defensible.
• Administer leaves of absence and accommodation requests under FMLA, ADA and state and local law, and monitor leave and attendance patterns so protected leave is applied consistently and never counted against employees.
• Build and maintain leave and employee relations dashboards.
• Conduct exit interviews, and report turnover trends and recommendations to leadership.
• Champion TaxRise’s values in every interaction, run engagement and pulse surveys, and follow through with managers so feedback turns into action. Help teams adapt with clarity as we grow and our processes change.
• Keep the handbook and People policies current, and design and deliver new-manager onboarding and people-manager training.
