Job summary

Newport Meat Southern California, Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a dedicated HR Generalist to partner with the HRBP to implement local and regional programs and support a positive work environment.

This onsite role focuses on core HR processes, compliance, recruitment support, and employee engagement within a dynamic retail/food services setting. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years HR experience, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and HRIS/payroll familiarity.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources management preferred or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• HRCI PHR or SPHR certification preferred
• Experience in utilizing HRIS and payroll systems

Responsibilities

• Partner with HRBP to execute core HR processes (e.g. performance management, talent management, total rewards, compensation, training and development)
• Coordinate and conduct new associate orientation, unemployment claims, onboarding and exit interviews, leave administration
• Review and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
• Maintain personnel files and administer administrative duties (copying, filing, posting notices, scanning)
• Provide coaching to associates and supervisors regarding policy and procedure; conduct employee investigations
• Support hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to staffing plans
• Support and maintain e-Time system and payroll-related activities
• Drive inclusive culture and employee engagement programs
