Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Patient Services Representative to be the primary contact for patients, families and caregivers upon arrival. This fully onsite per diem role supports check-in, paperwork distribution and patient flow at our Northwest Hospital location, with possible float to other Fred Hutch sites.

The position runs Monday–Friday, with start times between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm PST. A High School diploma and 6–12 months in customer service are required, along with strong

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6–12 months in customer service environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Organize and manage time and tasks independently.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Medical terminology knowledge (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Greets and screens patients arriving for appointments and checks them in using an automated scheduling system.
• Assembles and distributes paperwork to patients, families, caregivers and clinical staff.
• Triages questions and forwards to appropriate staff or department.
• Performs general clerical duties including mail, inventory and ordering supplies.
• Activates provider orders (Alliance Lab only).
• May schedule patient appointments as ordered by clinician.
• May facilitate patient flow.
• Verifies demographic, clinical and financial information with patient.
