Job summary

Providence Swedish is seeking a Patient Financial Counselor to work on-site in Seattle. You will coordinate all private-pay financial obligations, educate patients on costs and payment options, and collaborate with physicians and care teams to resolve financial concerns with empathy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required or equivalent experience.
• 3 years experience in patient financial services or medical billing in a hospital business office, or 5 years without degree.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all aspects of patient financial obligations for private-pay accounts
• Provide clear communication and education regarding financial responsibilities, payment options, and estimated costs of care
• Calculate, communicate, and collect patient deposit estimates in accordance with organizational policies
• Partner with physicians, clinical teams, and other stakeholders to address patient financial concerns and facilitate resolutions
• Respond promptly and professionally to patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints, ensuring issues are documented and resolved effectively
• Build positive relationships with patients and families by providing empathetic, customer-centered support
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance service, processes, and patient experience
