Providence Swedish is seeking a Senior Patient Financial Counselor to verify insurance eligibility and assess financial needs for cancer-related treatments. You will counsel patients on benefits, co-pays, and out-of-pocket costs, and secure preauthorizations for procedures and admissions.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in accounting, business administration, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• 2 years of prior background in a healthcare setting of billing, financial counseling, or financial advocacy with proficiency in medical terminology
• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.

Responsabilités

• Verifies insurance eligibility and assesses financial requirements for treatments and services.
• Counsels patients on insurance benefits, co-payments, and out-of-pocket expenses.
• Obtains required preauthorizations for procedures, treatments, and admissions and connects patients with grants or drug assistance programs.
• Coordinates with care team to communicate the patient’s financial roadmap and appeals when needed.
