Providence Swedish Medical Center is seeking a Senior Patient Financial Counselor to verify insurance eligibility, assess financial requirements for cancer-related care, and counsel patients on benefits and costs. The role collaborates with care teams to secure preauthorizations and access to assistance programs.

You will help patients navigate co-pays, grants, and drug assistance while coordinating with clinicians, social work, and third-party payers to map a comprehensive financial roadmap.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in accounting, business administration, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• 2 years of prior background in a healthcare setting of billing, financial counseling, or financial advocacy with proficiency in medical terminology
• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.

Responsabilités

• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits to determine coverage and patient responsibility
• obtain preauthorizations for procedures, treatments, and admissions as required
• advise patients on co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses and assist with applying for grants or drug assistance programs
• coordinate with referral coordinators, providers, social work, nursing, pharmacy, and payers to map the patient’s financial plan
