Responsibilities

• Perform admitting duties for all patients at Mercy - St Joseph Warren Hospital.
• Assign MRNs, verify medical necessity, collect insurance, process orders, and use an overlay tool while delivering excellent service.
• Operate the telephone switchboard for incoming/outgoing/inter-office calls.
• Audit accounts, ensure forms are completed accurately, and provide data to leadership.
• Pre-register patient accounts; collect demographics, insurance, and financial liabilities including POS collections.
• Explain consent forms and obtain signatures as required.
• Distribute patient education documents and review insurance eligibility to support POS and billing.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software for Medicare patients.
