Job summary

Colonna’s Shipyard, Inc. in Owensboro, KY is seeking a Recruiter to join our HR team onsite. You will source candidates, conduct initial phone screens, coordinate interviews, and post job descriptions to attract skilled trades talent.

You will collaborate with Superintendents and project managers to understand staffing needs and stay compliant with employment laws. The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, public speaking comfort, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent and at least two (2) years of demonstrated experience in recruiting skilled trades, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Must be able to efficiently use standard business software and tools (such as Microsoft Office Suite).
• Must have strong interpersonal skills to build trusting partnerships as well as effective verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must have comfort with public speaking and the ability to present to audiences of various sizes.
• Must be able to manage multiple openings in a fast passed environment.

Responsibilities

• Talent Sourcing: Assist in sourcing candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, networking, and employee referrals.
• Screening and Interviewing: Conduct initial phone screens and coordinate interviews, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
• Job Posting: Draft and post job descriptions across various platforms, ensuring they align with company needs and attract the right talent.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Superintendents and project managers to understand their staffing needs and provide support in identifying suitable candidates.
• Compliance: Ensure all recruitment practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Develop: Continue to strengthen the call list of craft employees who have previously worked with us or who have called in looking for work.
• Coordinate: Attend hiring events and job fairs; while building relationships with trade schools, workforce agencies, and community partners.
