Job summary

Delta Computer Consulting, Inc. is seeking an experienced IT Line Support Technician for 100% onsite work in our manufacturing plant environment.

This 6-month contract with extension potential requires strong Windows desktop support, Active Directory, LAN networking, and hardware troubleshooting. The role focuses on maintaining stability of Tier 1 production applications, plant floor computers, and end-user devices, with escalation to Level 2/3 as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience providing IT support in production/manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on with Windows 7/10 desktops and end-user devices.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory and user accounts.
• Experience troubleshooting LAN/network connectivity.
• Strong hardware troubleshooting for PCs, printers, scanners, and handheld devices.
• Experience supporting business-critical computer applications and production systems.
• Experience using IT ticketing systems to document incidents, troubleshooting, and resolutions.
• Ability to execute documented processes in an AIX/UNIX environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize incidents by production impact and urgency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to work the required onsite B-Shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on plant floor IT support for production-critical Tier 1 applications and computer systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving desktop PCs, laptops, printers, barcode scanners, scan guns, and handheld devices.
• Support Windows-based computers, applications, and end-user devices used in manufacturing operations.
• Diagnose LAN/network connectivity issues affecting production systems and equipment.
• Support Active Directory and user access-related issues.
• Monitor Tier 1 production systems, identify alerts, and respond to incidents.
• Follow documented troubleshooting procedures to restore systems to normal operations.
• Escalate complex incidents to Level 2 and Level 3 support teams.
• Coordinate with internal IT teams to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
• Create and update incident tickets and support procedures.
• Assist with technology upgrades and improvements involving production-critical systems.
