Job summary

IES seeks a Lead Communications Technician to act as on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects. The Lead will ensure job completion to Company and customer quality and safety standards while supervising staff efficiency on the project.

The role requires guiding crews, coordinating with the Project Manager, and maintaining accurate project documentation. Travel within territory is expected and the position emphasizes safety and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; 3 years telecom experience preferred.
• Ability to terminate fiber and interpret project docs and blueprints.
• BICSI certification preferred; strong MS Office (Word, Excel, MS Project) skills.
• Must travel within branch/ regional territory as needed; clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead major project crews and ensure safety, quality, and on-time performance.
• Coordinate with Project Manager for productivity and budget adherence.
• Complete timesheets, material transfers, work orders, and changes on time.
• Perform on-site quality checks and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Serve as main on-site customer contact and attend meetings as required.
• Provide supervision and training to staff and escalate issues when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
