Job summary

State of Mississippi – Mississippi Department of Archives & History (MDAH) seeks a Client Support Technician to provide on-site and remote IT support for the organization. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and access issues for workstations, printers, and Microsoft environments.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, customer service, and communication skills, with 3+ years in Windows 11 and desktop support, and 100% onsite work from day one at the Jackson location.

Qualifications

• 3+ years Windows 11 experience.
• 3+ years desktop/notebook support experience.
• 3+ years printer support experience.
• 3+ years wireless device support experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
• Basic knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
• Help desk/service desk and ticketing system experience.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work 100% onsite from Day 1.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote technical support to end users.
• Troubleshoot and repair desktop PCs, laptops, printers, monitors, and mobile devices.
• Install, configure, and update Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Respond to help desk requests through phone, chat, and in-person support.
• Log, track, troubleshoot, and resolve issues using ticketing systems.
• Set up new workstations and support employee onboarding/offboarding.
• Create user accounts and manage appropriate permissions/access.
• Support Azure/Active Directory environments.
• Maintain hardware, software license, and IT supply inventory records.
• Troubleshoot basic DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and networking issues.
• Escalate complex or network-wide issues to senior system/network administrators.
• Provide excellent customer service with patience, clear communication, and strong problem-solving skills.
