Job summary

NRI North America is seeking a Computer Support Technician to join our professional services team. This full-time onsite role supports school districts in Suffolk County, NY, with travel between sites throughout the day.

Responsibilities include resolving hardware/software issues, configuring devices, and maintaining IT assets. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential as you work with a collaborative IT group to improve systems.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
• 1–3 years in IT support or related role.
• Strong understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and technology products.
• Proficiency troubleshooting hardware/software in Windows and macOS.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL, etc.

Responsibilities

• Respond to help desk tickets and assist users with hardware and software issues.
• Diagnose and resolve problems related to computers, printers, network, and other IT equipment.
• Set up and configure computers, peripherals, and software for users.
• Perform regular maintenance and updates for optimal performance and security.
• Maintain records of support requests, resolutions, and inventory; update knowledge base.
• Monitor and maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, access points).
• Provide training and support on new software and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT team on projects, upgrades, and system improvements.
