Job summary

The Mississippi Department of Archives & History (MDAH) is seeking a dependable Client Support Technician in Jackson, MS, onsite. You will provide hands-on IT support for desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, and mobile devices across the MDAH network and assist with onboarding and offboarding.

You will diagnose and resolve incidents, configure new workstations, manage inventory, and support help desk operations. A strong customer service mindset and solid troubleshooting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or technical training in IT or related field required or equivalent.
• 1–4 years of IT support, desktop support, or service desk experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer-focused communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote end-user technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, and mobile devices.
• Install, configure, maintain, and update operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Support onboarding and offboarding, user accounts, permissions, and workstation setup.
• Log and resolve incidents using ticketing systems; assist with inventory of hardware/software.
• Escalate complex issues to senior administrators as needed.
