Job summary

HireTalent is seeking an IT Help Desk professional for a 6-month contract in Blacksburg, VA. The role provides Level 2 end-user support onsite, handling Windows and Mac environments and documenting incidents in the ITSM system.

Responsibilities include installing software, deploying equipment, and guiding users through policies while maintaining timely ticket updates and metrics. This onsite position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of proven experience in a customer support role involving technical knowledge of products, services, and IT systems.
• Experience installing and configuring computer systems and applications.
• Strong, disciplined, and systematic problem-solving skills.
• Effective time-management skills with the ability to establish and meet resolution deadlines.
• Experience using service desk software such as Bomgar and other remote desktop support tools.
• Experience supporting Windows and Mac OS operating systems.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; IT-related coursework or certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and support endpoint software.
• Deploy PC equipment and accessories.
• Provide guidance and explain policies and procedures to end users.
• Troubleshoot end-user PC, network, printing, and application issues.
• Diagnose, research, and resolve routine end-user technical issues.
• Escalate issues to the appropriate support teams after troubleshooting and documenting progress in the ITSM tool.
• Provide day-to-day Level 2 operational support for end users.
• Maintain detailed documentation in the ticketing system, including incidents, service requests, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and relevant dates and individuals involved.
