Job summary

Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) is seeking an IT Customer Support / Field Service Technician to support our DOE customer in Idaho Falls, Idaho. This 100% onsite role operates on a 9/80 schedule and requires strong troubleshooting skills and customer service.

Duties include solving issues through help desk activity, maintaining desktops and peripherals, imaging systems, applying patches, and using Microsoft Office products.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in Help Desk/Service Desk/Field Technician or active A+ with 1 year related experience.
• High School Diploma required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Technical experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware related issues.
• Maintain high level of customer service standards.
• Good time management and task prioritization.
• Ability to obtain Government BAO clearance or higher and HSPD-12 badge.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and diagnose problems via discussions with users, including problem recognition and resolution steps.
• Utilize problem management database and help desk systems.
• Answer help desk phones, input tickets, troubleshoot issues across DOE-ID computing environment.
• Maintain desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, and other peripherals.
• Ensure proper setup with latest standards for all systems and image where needed.
• Assist in distribution and timely installation of security patches.
